Welcome to Church in the Valley!

If you are looking for a safe place to explore Christianity, we are here to help you on your journey. On Sundays, you’ll find engaging music, biblical teaching with everyday applications, and safe and fun kids’ classes – all within a casual and friendly atmosphere. You’re welcome to stay and chat after service with some free coffee, tea, and light snacks. We hope to see you on a Sunday soon!

Worship

Our worship team leads us through songs that praise God and remind us what He is like.

Teaching

Our sermons go deep into God’s Word and leave you with practical applications for life.

Community

Sundays are a great time to connect with others and share the ups and downs of life.

Kids

We offer safe and fun programs for kids, so you can relax and enjoy the service.

Common Questions

We encourage everyone to come as you are. Whether you’re comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt, shorts, skirt, dress, slacks, etc., we are happy to welcome you to Church in the Valley.

Services start on time at 9:00am or 11:00am and last 75 minutes.  Before or after the service, you may enjoy taking some additional time to meet friendly people or learn about opportunities at our resource table.

We mainly sing contemporary worship songs but also include hymns and choruses composed throughout the Church’s history. Based on the principles in Colossians 3:16, we select songs that center our hearts on scriptural truths.

We invite you to join us in worship however you feel comfortable. Whether you would like to remain silent or clap and lift your hands up in praise, we welcome every expression of worship. We only ask that expressions of worship be done in wisdom, as not to distract others.

Our musicians are members of the church, so you’ll see them both on and off the stage! They’d love to meet you after a service.

We strive to provide safe, high-quality programs for kids. While you relax in the worship service, your child will be supervised by our trained volunteers and enjoy engaging biblical content, games, and activities alongside their peers.

For middle school and high school students, our youth group meets each Sunday morning during our 9:00am service. During the 11:00am service, we encourage youth to attend service with the adults. They are welcome to sit in front with the other teens and youth group leaders or with their parents and guardians.

Check out our kids and youth ministry pages for more details.

You are free to participate in whatever aspects of the service you feel comfortable with. You are welcome to listen to the worship music or sing along if you so choose. We strive to make guests feel comfortable – we do not put them on the spot.

When you arrive at Church in the Valley, you will see a place to create a name tag. Everyone wears one, so you will not stand out if you decide to make one. During the service, you’ll be invited to fill out a Connection Card just like our members do each week. You respond only with information you are comfortable sharing.

After the service, you will also have the opportunity to pick up a free gift from us at the guest information table in the plaza. It’s our way of saying, “Thanks for coming.”

Yes, we provide free coffee, tea, water, and snacks after each service.

Kids & Youth

A place for kids to grow & belong

We strive to provide safe, high-quality programs for kids. While you relax in the worship service, your child will be supervised by our trained volunteers and enjoy engaging biblical content, games, and activities alongside their peers. We encourage middle school and high school students to fellowship with our youth group at 9:00am, or attend service with the adults at 11:00am.

Parking & Arrival

1. Enter and park at the main gate

We meet at The Alhambra. The main parking lot is at the corner of Fremont and Mission, across from Kohl’s.

Parking is free on Sundays! Look for our blue signs, and our parking attendants can guide you through the entry gate.

2. Walk through the courtyard

Unload your crew and proceed along the brick walkway through a beautiful courtyard. You’ll reach our welcome tent by our building, and a greeter can guide you to the door.

We meet downstairs, so you can use the accessible elevator or the staircase to reach our lobby.

3. Check in the kids

We’d love for your kids to join us in our KidZone classes! Get started at the KidZone check-in area in the lobby, which opens 15 minutes before each service. Allow some time so we can register your family and ensure a safe and secure visit. Then follow the signs to each of the kids’ classrooms. You’re welcome to park a stroller, bring water, or drop off backpacks at the classrooms.

4. Explore the lobby and meet someone new

You can spend some time in the lobby before being seated. If you arrive a few minutes early, you can meet someone new or browse our guest information table. You can fill out a name tag (everyone wears one) found at one of the resource tables.

5. Enjoy the service!

The worship services begin at 9:00am and 11:00am. Pick up a program on your way into the auditorium and find a seat wherever you like. Services last about 75 minutes.  We’ll begin with some worship songs, followed by a time of teaching and concluding with a few more songs. Afterwards, pick up your kids and enjoy conversation and free drinks and snacks in the lobby.
