Giving

Support the work of the church

A safe and easy way to invest in our ministries

You can support Church in the Valley by making a one-time contribution or by establishing a recurring contribution. Our online giving is securely processed through churchcenter.com.

To schedule a recurring gift, you will first need to create an account.

*We allow giving by credit card as a convenience, however we do not encourage anyone to incur debt and have to pay interest on gifts given to the church. In addition, “Checking Account” transfer is noted as preferred because credit card transactions reduce the impact of your gift by up to 3% through fees. Please consider the use of electronic funds transfer from your checking account, so that your entire gift goes to the church.

Benefits of Online Giving

There are several benefits to online giving for both you and Church in the Valley.

First fruits

In Proverbs 3:9 we are taught to honor the Lord with the “first fruits” of our labor. By scheduling a recurring contribution for the day you specify you can ensure that your first fruits are given back to God.

Simplicity

You will eliminate the confusion of remembering whether you gave as you intended and the hassle of sending in your offering checks when you are out of town.

Security

Online giving is more secure than giving cash or a check since electronic gifts can’t be lost or stolen.

No distractions
During the service, you can be fully engaged, knowing that you have already given your offering.
Helping Church in the Valley

Online contributions require less processing from our administrative staff since the information is logged and deposited automatically.

Common Questions

Absolutely. Our transaction processing uses industry-standard encryption technology. Payment information is TLS encrypted and stored at Stripe – a Level 1 PCI compliant payment processor. Bank verification powered by Plaid.

No. You will not pay any fees with an online gift.

While we allow the use of credit cards for tithes and offerings, we still strongly encourage the use of electronic funds transfer rather than credit card payment for two primary reasons:

  1. Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many also do not. We do not want to encourage someone to go into debt and pay interest on gifts given to the church.
  2. With electronic funds transfer from your checking account, your entire gift goes to the church. When using a credit card, as much as 3% of your gift can go to the credit card company.

General Fund: The operating expenses of Church in the Valley’s ministry comes out of this fund and 10% of this fund goes to Missions.

Designated Giving: Gifts to this fund can be designated for specific purposes.

Church in the Valley uses Planning Center, which provides a secure system for managing online giving. Through our site at civalhambra.churchcenter.com, you’ll be able to set up recurring donations and view your previous giving history.
